100% BAD Page 16 is Now Online

Page 16 of 100% BAD has been uploaded.
Sorry for all the delays, if you live in upstate NY you know what a crazy couple of weeks it's been in terms of weather and basic services, not to mention my own brood getting sick all at once. Makes it hard to make the funny books when your boy's are all running fevers and coughing like Dickensian workhouse Orphans.

Supa Mulligan

I really didn't like the way I was drawing Paragon's close-ups in page 11 so I've adjusted the art and re-posted the page. That's my fault, I rushed through that page, yes I suck.
The close ups were lifeless and the expression wasn't at all Paragon. I hope you all like the redux I know I do.

Spooky Blog Entry Kills Family Dog

Wow, so my dog died today. Didn't see that one coming, or maybe I did. Jackie Chan was my Black Lab-Mutt for almost 17 years. He was no Hound of Chulainn but he was my dog and best friend.

Needless to say explaining this to my sons is going to be difficult. Look for regular updates to return on Wednesday.

So now that I've killed my dog with my blog all I can say is If Al Bruno dies then it'll be the Bad Luck Super Trifecta

Never Rains but it Pours

Well shortly after my traffic accident my wife fell and broke her little foot, gobbling up all of my art making time. Between that and volunteering for the elections have got me dead in the water. I wish I had built up a buffer of comics to help out when these things happen but I never claimed to be smart. I will have to postpone production for a little bit until things get back to normal.
Check back latter this week, I've got high hopes that my dog will not die this week. That would be the bad luck trifecta.

100% BAD Page 13 Is Now Online

Page 13 of 100% BAD has been uploaded. sorry for the delay, but this time I have a great excuse! Not only is Halloween my anniversary but I was also involved in a car accident within sight of my house. The EMTs took me to the hospital because my back was hurting me. It took me a while to get back to the house, but here I am and here is the latest page of 100% BAD.

Just as an aside, this accident would have never happened if the driver behind me had stopped at least one Super Dave Osbourne Safety Length away from me. Fortunately for me I was wearing my Super Dave Safety Belt. Remember folks it saves lives.

Darwinism Page 11 is Online

Darwinism Page 11 is online now.
I'm playing with the idea of having the art change slightly according to the narrator's state of mind- in the last panel you'll see the Bright colors and the sharp contrasts of the world of Darwinism give way to a much more muted pallet once they finish. I once tried this idea with fight scenes but it never worked out the way I wanted, back then tho- I was working strictly in Black & White.
I guess I'll have to see how the style change plays out over the next few pages. But if your a fan of those brilliant reds and shiny blacks don't fret, I'm sure Mr. Blank and Madame X will be back to Darwinism before you know it.

Page 10 of Darwinism has been uploaded

Page 10 of Darwinism has been uploaded, a little late but I've told y'all that while the elections are on it's hard for me to make the updates as timely as I'd like them.

I'm congested AGAIN hopefully this will go away soon- I'm getting tired of being a snot factory.
The good thing is that I got to see my folks in Valatie on Monday- my bothers and sisters showed up too and we all had a blast. Though my youngest some how emerged from the house with a black eye, damned if I know how but that's what you get when you have a tough kid, he just doesn't cry when he gets hurt, take his dolly away and it's waterworks but bumps and cuts- nothing just a, "My fell" like a news reporter then he's off again chasing the older kids.

I hope you're enjoying reading the comics as much as I'm enjoying making them, my analytics tell me I've gotten hits from New Guinea and South Korea- that's pretty cool.

Darker and darker...way down.

Thanks to everyone who has been looking at my comics, I hope you're enjoying them- I'm having a ball doing all of this drawing, it's really making me happy. But, god forbid I don't get to draw just one day, then I act like the surliest bastard on earth. So before you let me hold your life in my hands just remember to first ask if I've had the chance to draw anything today.
A little doodle makes all the difference.

My Supa Life Page 06 Update

My Supa Life Page 06 has been posted. Sorry for the delay but I was designing web-pages all weekend. That's the life of a freelancer.
Plus my eldest son came down with the same illness that I was fighting off last week, poor little guy had to spend 2 hours just waiting to be seen by a doctor. That's the life of the son of a freelancer.
Pretty much anything connected to freelancers is cursed.

Sick Sucks

I'm sick, a cold has me zonked in. I wanted to get some rest today but the wife had other plans, she always does. needless to say this is all putting me behind schedule for the comics. I will try and catch up but until I'm back to full strength I'm afraid those late night drawing sessions will have to wait. I'll post as soon as I can, but right now I'm getting boogers on my keyboard. :p

My Supa Life Page 05 has been uploaded. Sorry it was so late but I've been feeling under the weather.

Page 08 of 100% BAD is now online! This page was a tough one for me but I think it came together in the end.
And let me take this opportunity to brag that this week my eldest son got 108% on his spelling test. He worked really hard and it paid off.

I'm going to try another MudHouse one panel- this one is from my older/younger boy walking to Soccer Practice said something for the ages. One panels are hard for me, I'm so used to having pages to tell my story but that one panel is tough- I've got to give a mighty load of respect to my buddy Evan Forsch for mastering it. If you get the chance check out his site.

The Strangers!

One of my oldest friends, Dan Masucci, gave me the permission to post a story that stars one of my favorite characters- Evol Rellik
The Strangers! was my attempt to cross the X-Files with the Fantastic Four. So without further delay here is The Strangers! in the story Fate Gives the Finger.

Mud House Rules

The other day my youngest son winced at me after putting his shoes on.

"How do those shoes feel?" I asked.

"These shoes fit too much." he replied.

You can't write one liners like that- when relating the story to a coworker who also is a cartoonist he said in an exasperated tone, "I could bang my skull against the desk all day and not come up with that, and your son's just throwing them away!"

Whenever I hear one of the boys or my wife for that matter, fire off one of these one liners I think, "I should make a one panel of that!" Well, lazy only gets you so far in life so here it is: The first instalment of Mud House.

100%BAD Page 07 Updated

100%BAD has been updated with page 07, again late because of my overflowing schedule but I think all my tardy behavior will be solved by my next scheduled update on Monday.

Darwinism Page 05 Posted

Sorry about being late with this page, it was a rough day on the campaign trail yesterday and the day before. That kind of thing makes it hard to work on funny books. But I will not be stopped by a 24 hour day!
I'm going to make a friends of link section for all the folks who want to leave me a link in the comments I'll be glad to pop it up there.

100%BAD Page 06 Updated

100%BAD has been updated with page 06, The scene where Jack meets up with Yaga the fortune teller. My wife has noticed that I seem to like the idea of gypsy curses and use them often in my comics, I once did a mini comic called "The Strangers!" and in a story called "Fate Gives the Finger" one of the strangers comes under the influence of a curse. It was based on characters that Dan Masucci and I created, I'll ask him if it's OK with him if I post it to this blog. That would be nice.

Oh by the way Jack is driving a 1948 Desoto Custom Convertible, it's based on one of the cars I bought for my wife. Some girls collect shoes, she does old cars.

My Supa Life is On Line!

I finally got far enough ahead to start posting pages of My Supa Life.
It's a Super hero story where the main character Paragon is forced back into the real world, all while trying to juggle her job, parents, friends and super villains.

Have At Thee!

The wife and I took the boys to Medieval Times in Lyndhurst New Jersey this weekend and they had a blast. For those of you who haven't heard of this entertainment venue, Medieval Times is a dinner and a show where the actors joust. Think Pro-wrestling meets airplane food and you've got a pretty good idea of what's going on.
The boys were just the right age to get totally into the story lines and the stun-show action. They cheered their favorite warriors, booed and hissed the evil knight (at least until the evil knight threatened to come after them, after that they would just boo from behind his back.
I had a great time to, but not for the phony fights or the sub-standard food, it was getting to see them totally buy into the experience. This must be what it's like to take a kid to Disney World, was what I kept thinking. In the past I've begged off such trips and events, because I was working or because of the expense, I was an idiot. The value of seeing them enjoy the experience was priceless.

100% BAD is now online

100% BAD is a love story of a different kind (the kind with lots of drinking, the undead and fart jokes). Special Thanks to Paul Hughes and to my Wife for being the inspiration of this story.

New Comic Project Started: Darwinism is Online

My good friend Jeff and I used to sit at our computer terminals in the graphics department at a dead end job and listen the rants of the sales staff and we were always amazed at the rank stupidity of our fellow human beings. "Why Jeff, why don't we live in a world where Darwinism works?" From that simple statement came the genesis of Darwinism: Survival of the Fittest.
I've just posted the first page on Darwinism Online and I hope to post more pages soon (at least once a week).
This one is dedicated to Jeff, and the struggle for survival.
